    I came across this book after having read the author's first two. The second was better than the first, and this one was better than the previous one. The characters have such depth and rich backgrounds. They compliment the main storyline and make for a beautiful woven piece of art. This is by far the best book I've read in a long while.

    I am a huge Khaled Hosseini fan! I have read all his books, he is an amazing story teller. His writing in "And The Mountains Echoed" is beautiful and heart wrenching.

    I think this will be the last book I read by this author, even if he does publish a fourth. The plot lines of all three of his books are very similar. They leave very little to the imagination. The connection between the characters in this book could have amounted to so much more than he wrote. I feel much of the book was unnecessary side stories - fillers - that took up a great amount of time without adding much substance to the plot line. The parts of the book I anticipated most were often explained much later on, with far less detail than I had hoped for, and usually by a character I was not hoping to hear it from. I'm disappointed. I expected much more, and saw great potential in this book. This will not be a book I pick up to read again. It is not something that will leave a lasting impression. It is akin to a bad aftertaste. I won't remember the details, I won't remember how it made me feel, all I will remember is how disappointed I was in its flavor.

    While I enjoyed the book, I don't believe it was up to the standard of his other two novels. I got lost about half way in when the first person protagonist changed several times and I couldn't keep up with "who" was talking

    I am by all means obsessed with Khaled Hosseini. I love what he stands for and love that he brings awareness to the middle eastern cultures while highlighting it's beauty. Read this book. It's just as lovely as the others.

    I was so excited to read another novel by Khaled Hosseini. This book started off amazing but then nearly fizzled out. Unlike "The Kite Runner" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns," which brought out nearly every emotion in me, I wasn't as moved with this book and I felt less invested in the characters. Both Hosseini's previous novels are a tough act to follow, so maybe my expectations were high. Overall this book was pretty good.

    I enjoyed the last two books by Khaled Hosseini so I was eager to read this one. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. It was very disjointed, characters and story lines were abandoned. I forced myself to finish reading it, hoping that somehow everything would come together but it never did. It feels like a completely different writer than his other two books honestly.
